Give Joy 2 One was founded in 2012 to aid the growing population of orphans in Guatemala. The needs of orphans in Guatemala rose greatly when the country closed for adoptions in 2007. The mission of Give Joy 2 One is to serve orphans and families and help provide them with the necessary medical care, dental care, eye care and education.

Give Joy 2 One Ministries:

  • God Bless the Children

God Bless the Children is located in Guatemala City.  Currently it is home to 14 children aged 0-6.  The founder of the home is  Cinthya Vallejo, a Christian Guatemalan attorney who has been placing neglected and abandoned children in foster homes since  2004.  As foster care is no longer authorized by the government, the home was founded in 2010. Children are placed in the home by the Juvenile Courts from various regions of the country and come from abuse, neglect, and abandonment. At God Bless the Children, they meet the physical, mental, educational and spiritual needs of each child, by giving them a family model where they receive love and Christian principles.

  • Rehoboth

Rehoboth Children's Home is located in the town of Chimaltenango, located 35 miles west of Guatemala City. Rehoboth is home to children between two and 18 years old. The name of the home is based on Genesis 26:22. In this passage, Isaac had dug two wells in the new land and those around him quarreled with him, saying it was theirs. Once he had dug the third well, no one quarreled over it and he named it Rehoboth, saying, "Now the Lord has given us room as we will flourish in the land." This means a lot to the children of Rehoboth; it reminds them that though their parents and others have abandoned them, God has made room for them. Guatemala has one of the highest violent crime rates in Latin America; your sponsorship will help these children have a fair chance to overcome these statistics and live a life full of God's abundance.

  • Pino Gordo Village

Pino Goro is a small village located outside of Jalapa, Guatemala. Families in this village have poor diets and live in horrible conditions as a result of extreme poverty.

  • Hope Home

Info on Hope Home coming soon...

Guatemala is a small but beautiful country that sits just south of Mexico. The city of Guatemala is the country's capitol. The country is geographically mountainous and tropical; having the largest rain forest north of the Amazon. Guatemala has one of the most vivid and diverse cultures of Central America that is rooted to ancient Maya and a turbulent history; both of which continue to influence the country to this day.

Despite sitting on only 42,000 square miles, Guatemala has a population of over 14 million. Over 360,000 children who live in Guatemala are orphans or have lost a parent. Fifty percent of children under the age of 5 suffer from stunting as a result of inadequate nutrition. The majority of children leave school after fifth grade to work; resulting in twenty five percent of the child population to be engaged in child labor.

The children of rural mountain communities suffer just as much as the orphans in the city. Although these children have parents, their families are poor and often violent. These children often do not even attend school. The infant mortality rates are high resulting in parents who continue to have children in the hope that some of them will survive and help support the family.

As hopeless as the situation seems, there is hope for Guatemala! Hope that can be brought by Jesus Christ, caring hearts, and spirituality responsible Christians. Would you be willing to bring hope to this country?

defender of widows -

this is God, whose dwelling is holy."
